Samuel Dangel is a student of art history, sociology and political science at Freiburg University.
In 2004 and 2005, Samuel was responsible for computing at Freiburg University’s Department of Art History as an undergraduate assistant. In the winter semester of 2004/5, he attended a seminar on the video art collection of the Center for Art and Media Technology in Karlsruhe. This seminar resulted in the composition of a catalogue in which Samuel published several short texts. In 2006, he was given the opportunity to complete an internship at the art exhibition centre in Basel during which he gave an introductory lecture on the supporting programme of the exhibition ‘QUAUHNAHUAC – Die Gerade ist eine Utopie (The utopian concept of straight lines)’. His dissertation is a comparative study of various provoking aspects in the art works of Thomas Demand and Studer/van den Berg.
