Fiona Hesse is a student of art history, psychology and modern German literature (M.A.) at Freiburg University. She also works as an actress as well as a host of ‘Slam Supreme’, a cabaret event which takes place at Freiburg’s MensaBar. She has been a member of the Zeitgenossen from its initiation. In January of 2007, Fiona took part in the production of Jon Fosse’s ‘Todesvariationen’, directed by Johanna Meier. She also played a part in the ‘Kleidertausch’ performance at the ct-Festival alongside Sophia Maier in early 2008.
During a three-month internship at the auction house Phillips de Pury&Co. in Munich in 2006, Fiona gained insight into contemporary art and photography as fields of work. In the summer of 2007, this was followed by another three-month internship at the Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt, where Fiona contributed to the preparation of the exhibitions ‘Turner, Hugo, Moreau’, ‘Tourism’ and ‘Female Impressionists’.
Fiona has worked as an undergraduate assistant at Freiburg University’s Department of Art History since 2007.
She is the curator of the ‘akträume’ exhibition.
